Madison-James Clemens High School
City of Madison's newest High School-James Clemens High First opening in August of 2012, this modern high school is named for the founder of the city of Madison. A relative of another more famous Clemons, Samuel, also known as Mark Twain. James bought some land west of Huntsville around 1850 with the intention of starting a train depot named Clemons Station. However, the name somehow became Madison Station and the name stuck. James Clemens was progressive for his time, in that he sold land to women and freed his slaves in 1850, well before the beginning of the Civil War. There are many beautiful new and previously loved homes in this western part of Madison County, and eastern Limestone County. The median price for a single family home is approximately $265,000. Including condos and townhouses, homes range from a condo of $55,000 to a grand estate at $1,750,000. Click this link to find your dream home in the beautiful new James Clemens High School district.
